About
Natural.
Ethical.
UK trade.

Lifetrition supplies UK food, drink and hospitality businesses with natural, ethically sourced functional ingredients. Natural colour systems, botanical extracts, adaptogens, nootropics and natural actives: ingredients that look good, taste good and have a reason to be there.

We care about where things come from, how they're grown and how they're brought to market. Sustainable sourcing is part of how we decide what to work with. Every ingredient in our portfolio has a traceable, responsible supply chain we're comfortable standing behind.

Whether you run a restaurant, hotel, cafe, food brand or drink business, the demand for natural, functional ingredients is only going in one direction. We find the ones worth using and make them accessible to the UK trade.

Philosophy
Four things we won't compromise on.
01
Taste
Functional food that doesn't taste good doesn't reorder. Everything we bring to market has to work on the plate or in the glass first. Health credentials matter, but they won't save a product that people don't enjoy.
02
Colour
Natural colour is one of the strongest ranging signals we see. Products that don't stand out on shelf or in a menu rarely get ranged twice. We look for ingredients with genuine visual character: botanical extracts, natural pigments and plant-derived colours that don't need a lab to explain them.
03
Functional
Everything we distribute does something real. Gut health, cognitive support, natural energy, recovery: benefits that are well documented and backed by the ingredients, not the marketing. We don't work with anything we can't explain.
04
British
We focus entirely on the UK trade. That means understanding what UK buyers range, what UK consumers respond to, and what the UK regulatory environment requires. This is all we do.
Product Focus
Categories worth ranging.

The categories we focus on have clear functional benefits, strong repeat purchase and real consumer demand. These are not trends. They are where UK buyers are already allocating shelf space.

Botanical Extracts

Single-origin, traceable extracts including turmeric, ginger, butterfly pea and adaptogenic herbs. Supplied as ingredients to manufacturers, food service operators and brand owners.

B2B Ingredient Supply
Functional Beverages

Calm energy, focus and relaxation drinks positioned as clean alternatives to conventional products. Proven traction in their home markets, ready for UK launch.

Retail and Food Service
Gut Health and Prebiotics

Fermented foods, prebiotic fibres and probiotic-rich formats. The UK's fastest growing functional category, up 44% in new product launches between 2023 and 2025 (Mintel).

High Growth Category
Performance Nutrition

Clean-label protein formats, functional snacks and performance ingredients for the gym, sports retail and food service channels.

Gym and Sports Channel
Custom Formulations

We work with cafe chains, gym operators and contract caterers to develop custom functional blends for drinks menus and food service applications.

Food Service
Emerging Botanicals

Single-origin botanicals with strong consumer interest in international markets but low UK penetration. Categories where being early matters and the supply chain is not yet commoditised.

The UK functional food market has moved past niche.

Gut health, adaptogens, natural energy and clean-label nutrition are now being ranged by supermarkets, cafe chains and contract caterers across the UK. These are not fringe categories. They are in mainstream retail and the buyers know it.

UK buyers are actively looking beyond EU intermediaries for direct supply relationships. Provenance matters commercially now, not just ethically. Buyers want to know where product comes from and are willing to pay more for something they can talk about.

  • Gut health and prebiotics: #1 functional trend in UK retail (Mintel, 2025)
  • Adaptogens entering mainstream FMCG formats (SPINS, 2024)
  • Provenance and traceability commanding premium pricing
  • Hospitality operators building wellness-led menus
  • Functional botanicals identified as next wave after protein
